- Sow rate: Approx. 12 grams for a 10 x 10′ grow tray.
- Grow medium: Hemp mats, soil, or coir peat.
- Seed germination temperature: 18-25°C.
- Method: If growing with soil, add 3-4 cm of soil to the tray and flatten the medium. Spread the seeds evenly over the soil and press gently to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
- Watering: Water well with a spray mister, ensuring the medium is damp but not waterlogged.
- Cover and germinate: Cover the tray with a lid or plastic wrap and place it in a well-ventilated area away from direct light. Germination usually takes 2-3 days.
- Weight the tray: Yes, use a weight to press seeds into the soil for better contact.
- Remove cover: Once the seeds have germinated, remove the cover and place the tray in a location with indirect sunlight or under grow lights.
- Watering: Water the microgreens lightly once or twice daily to keep the soil moist.
- Harvest: Purple radish microgreens are ready to harvest in approximately 7-12 days after sowing. Look for the first true leaves to appear, indicating they are mature enough for harvest.
To harvest, cut the microgreens just above the soil level using clean scissors or a sharp knife. Rinse them gently to remove any soil particles before consuming.
