VEGETABLE Tatsoi Seeds
Botanical name: Brassica rapa var. rosularis
Tatsoi is a fast-growing Asian green with spoon-shaped, glossy dark green leaves that form a compact rosette. It has a mild, mustard-like flavour and is versatile in the kitchen—perfect for salads, stir-fries, soups, and steamed dishes.
An excellent cool-season crop, Tatsoi is cold-tolerant and can withstand light frost, making it ideal for growing through autumn, winter, and early spring.
- Also known as spinach mustard or rosette bok choy.
- Harvest baby leaves in 3 weeks or allow to mature into a full rosette.
- Mild, slightly nutty flavour—less spicy than rocket or mizuna.
- Very cold-tolerant and can survive sub-zero temperatures under protection.
- Can be grown in containers, raised beds, or directly in the garden.
- High in vitamin C, beta-carotene, calcium, and folate.
- Excellent for mixed salad greens, braising, or adding to soups and noodle dishes.
- Ideal for cut-and-come-again harvesting or full-head harvest.
Growing Instructions (Baby Leaf/Full Maturity)
- Pick outer leaves early for continual harvest or allow full head to form in 6–7 weeks.
- Best grown during cooler months for best flavour and slower bolting.
- In hot weather, Tatsoi may bolt quickly—sow in partial shade or during shoulder seasons.
- Can be succession sown every 2–3 weeks for a continuous supply.
